100-Pound Pig Up For Adoption At Pasadena Humane

PASADENA, CA — Pasadena Humane is looking for a new home for Honey, a friendly 100-pound pig whose previous guardian could no longer care for her.

The spotted pig is available for adoption and has quickly won over staff with her outgoing personality, Pasadena Humane said Wednesday.

"This adorable pig is so friendly and comes right up to the front of her kennel to greet new people. We absolutely love her!" the organization wrote.

Pasadena Humane noted that pigs require specialized nutrition, enrichment, veterinary care and adequate space. Prospective adopters should also check local ordinances because pigs are not permitted as pets in every community.

Bradbury, South Pasadena, Monrovia and Sierra Madre are among the nearby communities that allow pigs, while Pasadena, Arcadia, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, San Marino and the city of Los Angeles do not, according to Pasadena Humane.
