75 Year Old RivCo Woman Killed In Vehicle-On-Pedestrian Crash
A 75-year-old woman died after an Audi struck her as she stepped from a center median, police said.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA (CNS) — A 75-year-old woman was killed by a vehicle in Riverside County, authorities said Sunday.
Officers responded to the intersection of Golf Center Parkway and Avenue 44 in Indio at about 11 p.m. Saturday after a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash, according to the Indio Police Department.
They found the woman suffering from major injuries, and paramedics performed lifesaving measures before transferring her to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Her identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators believe the involved vehicle, a white Audi sedan, was traveling north on Golf Center Parkway when it struck the pedestrian, who had just stepped off the center median into the roadway.
The 50-year-old driver of the Audi remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to the Indio Police Department. The department's Traffic Unit assumed the investigation. Golf Center Parkway was closed for three hours after the crash.
