Barefoot Thief Swipes Taylor Swift Cutout From SoCal Ice Cream Shop

CAMARILLO, CA — A barefoot thief made off with a life-size Taylor Swift cardboard cutout from a Camarillo ice cream shop Monday night, according to the business.

The man first visited the Mister Softee shop with five other people at about 8 p.m., employees said. After the group finished its ice cream and left, he returned alone roughly 20 minutes later, the California Post reported.

Surveillance video shared by the shop on Instagram shows a man wearing a white T-shirt, black joggers and a black cap walking into the store barefoot. He looks around before grabbing the Swift cutout from near the front entrance and carrying it outside at about 8:21 p.m.

“It is with a heavy heart that we share that our Taylor Swift standee has been stolen from our Camarillo store,” the shop wrote. “If you recognize this guy, let us know.”

The display had been used as a photo opportunity promoting Mister Softee’s Swiftie Swirl.

The chain debuted the frozen treat after TMZ captured photos of a Mister Softee truck outside Madison Square Garden in New York City ahead of Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding earlier this month, according to the company.

The Swiftie Swirl features vanilla soft serve blended with cookie dough and chocolate dip (to create chocolate chips), topped with mini M&M’s, whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles.

The themed treat remains available this week at the company’s Ventura and Camarillo locations, the shop said — though Camarillo customers will have to go without the Taylor Swift photo op unless the cutout is returned.
