Body Found Near 5 Freeway On-Ramp In LA

LOS ANGELES, CA — An investigation is underway after a person was found dead near an on-ramp to the southbound 5 Freeway in Boyle Heights Tuesday morning.

A Caltrans crew discovered the body shortly after 9 a.m. near the Mission Road on-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The circumstances surrounding the death were not immediately known, and authorities had not released the person’s identity.

KTLA footage from the area showed several law enforcement vehicles near the on-ramp around 10:45 a.m.

The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office was called to recover the body. A SigAlert was issued for the closure of the Mission Road on-ramp for an unknown duration.
