Breakfast Republic To Open Highland Park Location Amid SoCal Expansion
Rise & Shine Hospitality Group plans restaurants in Palm Springs, Orange County and Los Angeles while closing three San Diego locations.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Breakfast Republic is expanding its presence in Los Angeles County.
Rise & Shine Hospitality Group, which owns Breakfast Republic, announced plans to open new Breakfast Republic restaurants in Palm Springs, Orange County and Los Angeles. A spokesperson told Patch that the Palm Springs location is expected to open in October, Huntington Beach is planned for late February to early March, and Highland Park is scheduled for late February to early March.
The company also plans to expand its Breakfast Company brand into Texas later this year with its first location in the Dallas area. Additional Breakfast Republic locations are planned for the state.

The expansion comes as Rise & Shine closes three longtime San Diego-area Breakfast Republic restaurants. The Encinitas, North Park and Ocean Beach locations will serve their final customers Aug. 9.
The company said the closures are tied to lease expirations and strategic portfolio decisions.

Breakfast Republic will continue operating restaurants in San Diego's East Village, Liberty Station, Mission Valley, Pacific Beach and Scripps Ranch, as well as locations in Costa Mesa, Culver City, Echo Park, Irvine, Long Beach and Palm Desert.
The North Park Breakfast Republic, which opened in 2015, was the original location for the brand. The Encinitas and Ocean Beach restaurants opened in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
Breakfast Company currently has two restaurants in San Diego and one in West Hollywood.
Johan Engman, founder of Rise & Shine Hospitality Group, said the company is investing in new opportunities while continuing to evaluate its restaurant portfolio.
"We're incredibly excited about what's ahead," Engman said in a statement. "We're expanding Breakfast Republic's footprint throughout California while introducing Breakfast Company to Texas for the very first time. It's an exciting new chapter for our team, our guests, and our company."
Additional details about the planned openings are expected in the coming months.
