Firefighters Hoist Minivan Off Of Person

WESTLAKE, CA — Firefighters used heavy rescue equipment in the Westlake area Saturday to hoist a minivan off of a patient trapped beneath.

The situation was reported at 5:25 p.m. Saturday at 2130 W. Seventh St., at Lake Street, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.

The patient's name, gender, age and condition were not available, Lantz said. The person was transported to a hospital.

Exactly how the patient became trapped was also unavailable.

The Los Angeles Department of Transportation was called to the scene to control traffic access, Lantz said.
