Authorities ID Man Killed In Mass Shooting At Street Takeover In Carson

Authorities said two men were transported to a hospital in critical condition.

CARSON, CA — A 22-year-old man who was fatally shot during an illegal street takeover in Carson, which also left six people injured, was identified by authorities on Monday.

The Los Angeles County medical examiner's office identified the victim as Patrick Bell of Los Angeles.

On Monday, authorities were asking for the public's help finding the gunman who opened fire.

The shooting was reported around 3 a.m. near the intersection of Charles Willard Street and Harmen Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

When deputies arrived at the scene they found three gunshot victims, including one man who was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two victims, both men, were transported to a hospital in critical condition, authorities said.

Investigators later learned four additional gunshot victims transported themselves to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said there were many witnesses at the scene, and urged anyone with information about the investigation to contact the sheriff's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
