Gunfire Erupts At Street Takeover, Killing 1 And Injuring 6: Authorities

CARSON, CA — A man was killed and six males were hurt in a shooting during a street takeover early Sunday in Carson, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. at Charles Willard Street and Harmon Avenue, authorities said.
Deputies from the Carson Sheriff’s Station arrived to find three men with gunshot wounds, one of whom died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The other two were taken to a local hospital and were in critical condition, authorities said, while four more gunshot victims self-transported to area hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.

“Investigators have also learned there was a street takeover occurring at the location when the shooting occurred,” the sheriff’s department said in an advisory. “There were numerous onlookers present, and investigators are urging anyone who was at the takeover to come forward with any information.”
