Woman Rescued After Fall From Bridge Near LA River
Paramedics were lowered down to the patient to evaluate her condition for transport, officials said.
BOYLE HEIGHTS, CA — Firefighters rescued a woman Saturday who fell about 40 feet from a bridge into the LA River.
The fall was reported at 1:24 p.m. Saturday at 2750 E. Washington Blvd., east of Soto Street, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Jamie Stewart.
"LAFD Air Operations is performing a hoisting operation and will be transporting the patient for further medical care at a local hospital," Stewart said.

Paramedics were lowered down to the patient to evaluate her condition for transport, he said.
The Los Angeles Police Department and Department of Transportation were summoned for traffic control, Stewart said.

The woman's condition was not immediately available. It was not clear how she came to fall from the bridge.
