• Public Notice The California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management (bakersfield.com) — A state oil and gas regulator is weighing an aquifer exemption for oilfield injection wells west of Lost Hills, and wants to hear from local residents. CalGEM will hold a public comment hearing at the Lost Hills Community Center on Thursday, July 16, 2026, and is accepting written comments through July 31. The decision could affect how oil operations manage wastewater near the community.

• California Public Utilities Commission approves more than $18 million in funding for broadband infrastructure projects (actionnewsnow.com) — Students at Wonderful College Prep Academy’s Lost Hills campus will receive Chromebooks and digital literacy support thanks to a new CPUC grant to Human-I-T. The award is part of more than $18 million approved statewide for broadband, planning, and digital inclusion. This investment aims to help local families get online for school, services, and everyday life.
