Topanga Canyon Boulevard Overnight Closures Continue This Week (patch.com) — Overnight lane closures on Topanga Canyon Boulevard will continue all week, affecting the key route between the San Fernando Valley and Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. One lane will stay open with flaggers directing alternating traffic as Caltrans upgrades guardrails, shoulders, and pedestrian features through summer 2027, so Malibu-area drivers should plan for delays and consider alternate routes.

Kevin Garnett's unfinished Malibu dream house becomes a $48M mansion after lawsuits and delays (newsobserver.com) — A long-unfinished Malibu blufftop property once owned by NBA star Kevin Garnett has finally been completed as a seven-acre, ocean-view mansion now listed around $48 million. After lawsuits, failed deals, and a debt-holder taking control, the home has been rebuilt with European materials, an infinity pool, pickleball court, gym, and avocado-dotted grounds overlooking the Pacific.

Extreme Heat, Fire Danger Expected in SoCal all Week (iheart.com) — Malibu-area residents are facing triple-digit heat, critical fire danger, and the possibility of Southern California Edison cutting power to reduce wildfire risk near town and the Santa Monica Mountains. A red flag warning runs through Friday for nearby mountain corridors, and officials urge residents to stay cool, hydrated, and never leave kids or pets in cars as overnight temperatures remain unusually warm.
