• Ocean Water Warnings Issued as Southland Heat Continues (mynewsla.com) — If you're heading to Manhattan Beach Pier to cool off, county health officials are warning people to stay out of the water there because bacteria levels exceed state standards. The advisory covers 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier, along with several other Los Angeles County beaches. Officials say elevated bacteria can increase the risk of illness for swimmers.
   

• Casteel vs Mira Costa (maxpreps.com) — Mira Costa High School's volleyball team from Manhattan Beach edged Arizona's Casteel Colts 2–1 in a tight non-league match, improving their season record to 16–6. The Mustangs next host El Segundo on Tuesday, giving local fans another chance to support a strong squad at home. Their upcoming opponent is coming off a loss to Redondo Union.
