• Bring Broken Items To Repair Cafe OC In Mission Viejo: What To Know (patch.com) — Mission Viejo residents can get broken household items repaired for free at the upcoming Repair Cafe OC on Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center. Volunteers will help fix everything from lamps and bikes to ripped clothing, encouraging reuse instead of throwing things away, and locals can also sign up as fixers through the city's website.
   

• Sal's Pizzeria Preparing To Open In Mission Viejo (whatnow.com) — A new Sal's Pizzeria is moving through county review to open at 27680 Marguerite Parkway in Mission Viejo, bringing New York-style, Sicilian, and Grandma pies plus other Italian dishes. While no opening date is confirmed yet, the spot is planned to offer scratch-made dough, in-house sauces, and possibly pickup or delivery once details are finalized.
   

• Lawsuit accusing O.C. Board of Education trustee of choking neighbor dismissed (latimes.com subscription) — Mission Viejo residents now know that a lawsuit over a 2023 road-rage confrontation in town, involving Orange County Board of Education trustee Ken Williams Jr. and neighbor Caden O'Malley, has been dismissed with prejudice. Court records show both men had alleged assault, but attorneys reached a mutual release of claims with no money exchanged, closing the case permanently in civil court.
