• Beached and Abandoned: Santa Barbara County Confronts 'Toxic' Boat Wrecks (independent.com) — Montecito's Butterfly Beach has seen multiple derelict boat wrecks this summer, prompting Santa Barbara County supervisors to seek stronger tools for prevention, cleanup, and cost recovery. Officials say wrecks cluster off Montecito and Summerland, bringing toxic fuel, sewage, and debris ashore. The board unanimously ordered staff to develop new code changes, enforcement options, and partnerships to better protect local beaches and residents.
• santa barbara, california (virginvoyages.com) — Montecito gets a spotlight in this Santa Barbara-focused travel guide, with a narrated "Stars & History" driving tour through its hills, estates, and mini‑Rodeo Drive plus time to explore local boutiques and cafes.
