City leaders said the downtown celebration, which draws 4,500 to 5,500 people with trunk-or-treating, carnival games, food vendors, and a costume contest, has become a core Moorpark tradition that also boosts High Street businesses.
   

2. Students 'Come Together' for college concerts (mpacorn.com) — Moorpark College students are gearing up to headline two 'Come Together' concerts at the campus Performing Arts Center, giving local residents a chance to hear eight different student bands over two nights. Council rejects new fireworks penalties (simivalleyacorn.com) — Moorpark officials are actively researching a host‑liability ordinance that could hold property owners responsible for illegal fireworks, even as neighboring Simi Valley has decided against new penalties. A draft ordinance for Moorpark, developed with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, is awaiting city attorney review and could reach the City Council this fall, potentially changing how local fireworks complaints are enforced.
