• Apply for Rotary Club of Morgan Hill grants by Oct. 31 (morganhilltimes.com) — Local nonprofits serving the Morgan Hill Unified School District can now apply for Rotary Club of Morgan Hill's Hearts of Rotary grants, with $24,000 available for projects directly benefiting local residents. Awards typically range from $250 to $2,500, and applications must be submitted online by Oct. 31, 2026, for specific, non-political, non-religious community needs.
   

• South County Cal-SOAP and Youth Alliance team up (morganhilltimes.com) — Students and families in Morgan Hill are part of a newly strengthened support network as Youth Alliance becomes the organizational home for South County Cal-SOAP on Oct. 1. The partnership aims to expand college and career advising, financial aid help, workshops, and campus tours for local youth, coordinating more resources across Gilroy, Morgan Hill, San Juan Bautista and Hollister.
   

• A new California law will ban watering decorative grass, even in non-drought years, starting Jan. 1 (baltimoresun.com) — Morgan Hill has already started adapting to California's upcoming ban on watering decorative grass by replacing 4,400 square feet of city hall lawn with native plants, benches and mulch. The new state law, taking effect in phases starting Jan. 1, will eventually prohibit irrigating ornamental turf at many government, commercial and HOA properties, pushing more communities to follow Morgan Hill's lead on water-wise landscaping.
