Morro Bay Harbor awarded more than $4 million for dredging project (calcoastnews.com) — Morro Bay Harbor is getting more than $4.1 million in federal funding to continue its crucial dredging project, helping keep navigation safe for commercial, recreational, and emergency vessels. Local leaders say the money will protect the harbor’s role in the city’s economy and quality of life, while nearby Port San Luis receives a smaller allocation for breakwater maintenance.

Restoration in progress for Morro Bay Library's mosaic mural (newtimesslo.com) — Scaffolding on the Morro Bay Library’s west wall means its beloved 650-square-foot mosaic mural is finally getting a long-needed restoration, not being removed. Local volunteers and specialists are replacing missing tiles to preserve scenes of Indigenous history, harbor life, and Morro Rock, with a new plaque planned to honor the late artist Peter Ladochy.

Local organizations speak out on offshore wind energy amid statewide strategy approval (ksby.com) — State regulators have approved a strategy guiding how offshore wind, including the long-planned Morro Bay project about 20 miles offshore, should coexist with fishing communities and tribes.
