HEMET, CA — Detectives Tuesday were seeking the public's help for information about a fatal stabbing of a Hemet resident during a suspected burglary.
The deadly assault happened shortly after midnight April 8 at a property in the 900 block of South Santa Fe Street, near Whittier Avenue, according to the Hemet Police Department.
The agency said 911 dispatchers received calls of a possible active burglary at a house, and patrol officers converged on the location minutes later.

"When officers arrived at the scene, they located a male down in the front yard, suffering from multiple lacerations and stab wounds," according to the police department.
The victim, whose name was not immediately disclosed, was taken to a regional trauma center for treatment, but died that morning.

No suspects were identified.
