MURRIETA, CA — The City of Murrieta, together with local officials, is working to make your home a great place to live. Whether you work from home, commute, or stay at home with your loved ones, here are some things happening in Murrieta over the next few weeks.

Senior Art Classes: Grounding Artists, 50+:

On June 17th, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., join your peers at the next session of Art Therapy at the Senior Center! June: Coffee Art (Painting with coffee grounds). That's right. Coffee grounds.

"Being creative helps us shift our attention away from worry and helps us be in the moment," a spokesperson for the Community Services Department shared.

Registration is open for just $16, which covers the class and all supplies included.

Community Safety Forum For District 3 Residents:

At 6 p.m. on June 4, head to the City Council Chambers at Murrieta City Hall, 1 Town Square, for a chance to talk with your local police department and District 3 representatives.

"Come and learn about safety programs and have your voice heard for the future initiatives and what's important to you and your neighbors," a spokesperson for the city says.

Economic Achievement For Murrieta's Innovation Center:

Kudos to the City of Murrieta's Economic Development Team. Recently, they received national recognition from Business Facilities Magazine for their work on the Murrieta Innovention Center.

"This is awarded to agencies who demonstrate success in advancing economic growth, including efforts related to business attraction and retention, workforce development, infrastructure investment, support for entrepreneurs and emerging industries, and overall community impact," they said. Well done and congratulations on your newly remodeled center. We can't wait to see what these guys do next

Plateau Palooza's 5 Week Summer Concert Series Begins:

Plateau Palooza begins June 27 with an opening night event called “Lemonade & Canvas,” which will include a gourmet picnic dinner, live entertainment by Jason Weber and a curated art showcase at the Plateau.

The five-week concert series is presented by The Nature Education Foundation and will support youth nature education programs for students across Southwest Riverside County, according to the organization.

"The June event is described as a 'sip, savor, and create' experience. This year will also mark the first time in the art show’s 26-year history that scholastic artists from local high schools will be featured."
