Officials Seeking Volunteers For 2026 Murrieta Field Of Honor (patch.com subscription) — Murrieta is recruiting volunteers now for its 2026 Field of Honor, when more than 2,000 flags will fill Town Square Park Nov. 7–15 to honor veterans, first responders, teachers, and other heroes. Individuals, families, student groups, and businesses can all pitch in and even earn community service hours while helping create this large patriotic display.
   

2. Sheriff's Deputy Hurt in Murrieta Pedestrian Accident at Winchester and Murrieta Hot Springs Roads (pacificattorneygroup.com) — A Riverside County sheriff's deputy was hospitalized in stable condition after being struck by a vehicle during a traffic stop Wednesday night at Winchester Road and Murrieta Hot Springs Road in Murrieta. The driver allegedly left the scene but was arrested shortly afterward, and investigators are still working to determine exactly what happened at the busy intersection.
   

3. The Ripple Effect: How Raven Hilden Turned a Few Care Packages into a Decade of Service (menifee247.com) — From an office on the Menifee–Murrieta border, nonprofit MilVet now sends more than 10,000 care packages a month and runs a pantry serving over 30 military families weekly. Founder Raven Hilden describes how community donations, volunteers, and simple monthly gifts—even $10—help local veterans avoid homelessness, access benefits, and keep their families fed while the group searches for a larger space to expand services.
   

4. IE Varsity's previews of top high school football games on Friday, Sept. 11 (pressenterprise.com) — High school football fans in Murrieta can look forward to Murrieta Mesa hosting Great Oak on Friday, with the Rams aiming for a three-game win streak behind quarterback Coleman Jones and linebacker Chris Flores. The roundup also notes Cajon's recent close loss to Murrieta Valley, while previewing several other Inland Empire showdowns that could shape early-season momentum.
