Napa nonprofits serving people with developmental disabilities can apply for up to $50,000 by Sept. 30, with funding decisions due by mid-November. The fund aims to strengthen inclusive services and residential support across Napa County.

Calistoga Seeks Longer Fairgrounds Deals For Revival (patch.com) — Calistoga officials are asking Napa County to allow longer, 50-year operating agreements for the Napa County Fairgrounds to attract investors and support long-term revitalization. City leaders have been lobbying the Board of Supervisors while staff prepare formal requests for proposals to run the golf course and Speedway. The talks could shape a key regional venue serving Napa County residents.
   

3. Napa man charged for allegedly starting 2025 Pickett Fire (nbcbayarea.com) — Napa County prosecutors have charged a Napa man with felony reckless burning in connection with the 2025 Pickett Fire near Calistoga, which scorched 6,820 acres. Authorities say the blaze destroyed several structures and led to more than $56 million in agricultural losses to vineyards and other crops, with the suspect's arraignment set for Sept. 9 in Napa County Superior Court.

Rebecca Yerger, Memory Lane: The life and times of Andrew Jackson Raney (napavalleyregister.com) — Long before today's growth, Andrew Jackson "Uncle Jack" Raney helped shape Napa County as a farmer, road builder, deputy sheriff, and four-term supervisor representing Gordon and Capell valleys. This historical profile traces his journey from Kentucky to Napa in 1851, his decades of public service, family joys and losses, and his peaceful passing in 1909 after a life deeply intertwined with Napa's early development.
