Marian Quevedo, the first Orestimba athlete to reach both the Arcadia Invitational and Nike Outdoor Nationals, hopes future Warriors use the new facility to chase down and surpass her marks. 
• Aggressive mosquitos making their way through Turlock (turlockjournal.com) — Aggressive Aedes aegypti mosquitos, first detected in Stanislaus County in Newman, are now spreading through the region and targeting humans around their homes. Local abatement crews are asking residents to grant yard access, eliminate standing water, and use DEET-based repellents to help control these invasive biters before they gain a stronger foothold.
