A Major Sweep Just Led To 6 Arrests In Novato, Here’s What Police Found

Police said the joint operation targeted people on active parole or probation.

NOVATO, CA — What started as a multi-agency check on parolees and probationers ended Wednesday with six arrests and investigators seizing drugs, drug paraphernalia and a semi-automatic handgun, police said.

The Novato Police Department worked with state corrections officials, Marin County probation officers and other agencies during the operation. Investigators conducted compliance checks at locations involving people on active parole or probation.

Those arrested were:

  • Eugene Cooper, 54, of Novato
  • Ivan Reyes Lopez, 22, of Novato
  • Jesse Hicks, 42, of Lagunitas
  • Jovardo Diaz, 20, of San Rafael
  • Jechivon Diaz, 23, of San Rafael
  • Darwin DeLeon, 22, of Novato

All six were booked into Marin County Jail for violations of their parole or probation terms, police said.

The operation included the Novato Police Department, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Special Services Unit, CDCR Office of Correctional Safety Fugitive Apprehension Team, Santa Rosa Parole, Marin County Probation AB 109 Unit and Marin County Coordination on Probation Enforcement.
