• Chaos at George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch as 5 injured in structure collapse (nypost.com) — Novato residents should know their local fire department helped respond after scaffolding and large display screens collapsed at Skywalker Ranch in nearby Nicasio, injuring five workers, one seriously. Crews from Marin County, San Rafael, and Novato used airbags to free a trapped victim, and investigators are still working to determine what caused the structure to fail. 
• Preps of the week: Running backs reach the end zone repeatedly (marinij.com) — High school athletes from around Marin, including a matchup played in Novato, turned in big performances on the football field, volleyball court, golf course, track, and in the pool. Standout running backs powered wins for Archie Williams, Terra Linda, and San Rafael, while Marin Catholic, Tam, Redwood, Branson, and Marin Academy athletes also delivered notable early-season results.
