Wire Fraud, Money Laundering Charges Filed Against Marin County Executives, U.S. Attorney's Office Says (patch.com) — Residents in Novato are learning that the founder and COO of Novato-based Pacific Private Money face federal wire fraud and money laundering-related charges after allegedly raising over $100 million while hiding major financial troubles. Prosecutors and the SEC say the executives shifted money between funds, used new investor cash to pay earlier investors, and left funds with far less in assets than obligations, with both men now facing potential prison time and upcoming court hearings.
