Serial Thief Caught Using Amazon Truck To Steal Bicycles In Marin County: Police

A man who used a delivery truck to commit a series of e-bike thefts was arrested and booked into jail, police said.

NOVATO, CA — A Richmond man was arrested after a series of e-bike thefts plagued the Tam Valley area of Southern Marin in January, police announced Friday.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation after four Tam Valley residents reported their e-bikes stolen from outside their homes or carports during January. Video footage showed one of the thefts and also provided police with a description of the suspect's vehicle.

The vehicle was determined to be a rental truck being used for Amazon deliveries and authorities said they were able to place the truck in the vicinity of the victim locations in Tam Valley.
