Metrolink Suspends Oceanside Service For 5 Days Due To High Tides
The five-day suspension affects train service between Oceanside and Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo.
OCEANSIDE, CA — Metrolink service to and from Oceanside will be suspended for five days beginning Monday because of anticipated high tides along the Southern California coastline, officials announced.
Through Friday, Metrolink's Orange County Line trains will operate only between Los Angeles Union Station and the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo Station, cutting off service to Oceanside.
No replacement bus service will be provided during the suspension, according to Metrolink. Weekend service is not expected to be affected.

The temporary suspension is intended to prevent widespread delays and cancellations if high tides disrupt rail operations along the coastline near San Clemente.
Metrolink officials said the adjustment will also reduce rail traffic and potential delays for Amtrak Pacific Surfliner and freight trains that share the coastal tracks.

Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains are expected to operate normally as long as conditions remain safe.
Metrolink will monitor coastal conditions throughout the week, conduct frequent track inspections and position crews and equipment nearby to respond to potential damage.
