1. Three people spotted leaving scene after vehicle sinks in Oceanside Harbor (timesofsandiego.com) — Emergency crews from Oceanside and Carlsbad responded before dawn Saturday after a vehicle was found fully submerged just off the shore at Oceanside Harbor, but no one was inside. Witnesses told officials three people climbed out of the water and left in a pickup before rescuers arrived. The vehicle was towed out with no injuries reported, and Oceanside Police are investigating how it ended up in the harbor.
   

2. Offshore - 9/19 267/209/312 (bdoutdoors.com) — An Oceanside angler shared a detailed offshore report from Saturday's trip, describing warm 70–74 degree water, scattered flying fish, and a few marlin and dorado seen but none landed. After working the 267, 209, and 312 zones and trolling back into Oside, they finished skunked aside from schools of small yellowtail on a paddy. The report suggests inshore and southern waters looked more promising for marlin.
   

3. Mission Vista vs San Marcos (maxpreps.com) — Mission Vista High in Oceanside fell 2-0 at home Saturday to a strong San Marcos volleyball squad, dropping the Timberwolves to 16-8. The teams will meet again in Oceanside on Tuesday, September 22, in Coastal (NCC) league play. San Marcos enters that rematch with a 20-5 record after sweeping Mission Vista twice.
   

4. U.S. faces scrutiny over redacted immigration records that verify legal status (wheninyourstate.com) — A long-time Oceanside resident's struggle to obtain complete immigration records highlights growing national concerns over redacted or missing files from U.S. immigration agencies. Lawyers and a whistleblower say tightened practices are delaying or denying access to crucial documents, potentially jeopardizing people's chances at permanent residency, citizenship, or relief from deportation when deadlines and court dates are looming.
   

5. North County native Chris Thile brings Grammy-winning Punch Brothers and their 'wild adventure' to UCSD (timesofsandiego.com) — Oceanside native and Grammy-winning mandolinist Chris Thile is returning to San Diego County this fall, bringing his Punch Brothers ensemble and a new all-instrumental album to UCSD's Epstein Family Amphitheater on Oct. 9. The show will blend adventurous new pieces with fan favorites and a theatrical, audience-participation twist that invites North County fans to make an evening of it.
