• Sheriff releases footage of deputy-involved shooting on Highway 178 (turnto23.com) — Kern County deputies have released bodycam footage from a tense deputy-involved shooting last month along Highway 178 in Onyx, where a domestic violence suspect crashed, barricaded himself, and pointed a gun at officers before surrendering. No one was injured, and an internal review found the deputies’ use of force followed department policy, while the suspect now faces multiple charges.
