• Orange Looks to Make Former 70-Acre Quarry Into Public Open Space (voiceofoc.org) — Orange city leaders have approved agreements that could turn the long-disputed 70-acre Sully-Miller quarry into permanent public open space, with no purchase or grading costs to the city upfront. Environmental cleanup, regulatory approvals, and detailed park planning still lie ahead, but residents may eventually see trails, habitat restoration, and educational features on Santiago Canyon Road if the multi-year process succeeds.
   

• WestJet Cancels All Flights To 2 US Destinations: See List Now (simpleflying.com) — WestJet may stop flying between Calgary and John Wayne Airport in Orange County as early as March 2027, which would end its limited service to the area. If that happens, Air Canada would become the only airline offering nonstop flights between Orange County and Canada, while WestJet continues to expand service to other U.S. destinations like Phoenix and Las Vegas.
