Man Sentenced For Running Down OC Woman With Car

GARDEN GROVE, CA — A Garden Grove man pleaded guilty Wednesday and was immediately sentenced to 10 years in prison for deliberately running a victim over with a vehicle in Garden Grove.

Thuan Cong Duong, 32, ran over a 32-year-old woman in the 12200 block of Brookhurst Street, just before 3 a.m. in Garden Grove, according to the Garden Grove Police Department.

The woman was seriously injured and hospitalized, police said.

Duong pleaded guilty to attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, both felonies, with sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury on the victim.

Duong has credit for 565 days behind bars.
