Coroner ID's ATV Driver Killed In Coachella Valley Crash With Another Vehicle: CHP
A 45-year-old man driving a green John Deere Gator in the area of Sky Valley was killed on Wednesday.
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA — The Riverside County Sheriff's Department Coroner's Bureau has identified a 45-year-old Sky Valley man killed Wednesday in a crash.
Israel Hernandez was identified as the driver of a small all-terrain utility vehicle that collided with a mid-size car in the unincorporated Sky Valley area. He died at the scene of the crash, his identity released after notification of next of kin, the coroner's bureau said.
Shortly before 4:45 p.m., the man was driving a John Deere Gator vehicle in the area of 22nd Avenue and Marshall Road, near Desert Hot Springs, when the collision occurred, according to California Highway Patrol Officer David Torres.

A second driver, a 35-year-old navigating a blue Toyota Camry, was traveling westbound on 22nd Avenue when it collided with the green ATV on the right shoulder of 22nd Avenue, Torres said.
The all-terrain utility vehicle driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash was under investigation. The driver's name and any other information were not immediately available.
