House Fire Near Palm Desert Leaves 1 Person Injured: Cal Fire

Officials said when crews arrived they encountered the home fully involved in fire.

PALM DESERT, CA — One person was injured after a fire broke out Thursday morning at a single-story home near Palm Desert, fire officials said.

The blaze was reported at 10:47 a.m. in the 48000 block of Painted Canyon Road, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

Officials said when crews arrived they encountered the home fully involved in fire. Additional resources were requested at to assist firefighters at the scene.

The fire was knocked down at 11:29 a.m.

One person was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries, fire officials said.

The Red Cross was requested to assist with one displaced adult.

Crews were expected to remain at the scene for three hours for "salvage and overhaul," fire officials said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
