Man Shot While Driving In Coachella Valley

A man sustained apparent gunshot wounds and told deputies that he was shot while driving on Tripoli Way.

PALM DESERT, CA — Authorities on Wednesday were investigating a shooting attack on a man who was driving in Coachella.

Deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at about 6 p.m. Tuesday in the 51000 block of Tripoli Way, Lt. Deirdre Vickers of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department told City News Service.

Arriving deputies found an injured man who sustained apparent gunshot wounds and told deputies that he was shot while driving. The man, whose identity was not revealed, was taken to a hospital with stable vital signs.

Witnesses told authorities that a shooting had taken place in the 85000 block of Araby Way, Vickers said. Upon arrival, deputies allegedly found evidence of a shooting.

No arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning.
