More Than 300 SCE Customers Without Power In Cathedral City

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA — A power outage left more than 300 Southern California Edison customers without electricity and temporarily shut down numerous traffic lights Tuesday in Cathedral City.
The outage was reported at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday near East Palm Canyon Drive and affected 346 customers, according to the agency's website.
"Southern California Edison and Cathedral City Public Works crews are on site working to identify the source of the outage and restore service," city officials said in a social media post.

The outage shut down multiple traffic signals at intersections along East Palm Canyon Drive. Motorists near the area were advised to slow down and watch for pedestrians and crews in the roadway and to treat all dark or flashing signals as a four-way stop.
An estimated restoration time was not immediately available, and the cause of the outage was not immediately known.
