Motorcycle Rider Killed In Crash South Of Palm Springs

PALM SPRINGS, CA — A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash that involved another rider and a third vehicle on the Pines to Palms Highway in Taylor, a community south of Palm Springs.

The crash was reported at 3:13 p.m. Saturday on the Pines to Palms (74) Highway near Carrizo Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A witness told the CHP one motorcycle went off the road and down an embankment.

A rider was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP stated. The rider's name, age and gender were not available.

It was unclear if there were further injuries.

The road through the crash scene was closed for more than three hours. It reopened at 7:49 p.m.
