• Man arrested in connection with almost a dozen Caltrain bicycle thefts (paloaltoonline.com) — Caltrain riders from Palo Alto and nearby cities should know a man has been arrested in connection with nearly a dozen bicycle thefts along the rail corridor between San Francisco and Gilroy. Deputies used onboard video to identify the suspect, who was arraigned and released under supervised recognizance, while the Sheriff's Office says it will keep working with Caltrain to curb bike thefts.

• Startup Wants to Connect Brains to Computers Through Snorted Nanoparticles (hypefresh.com) — A Palo Alto neurotechnology startup called Subsense is developing a non-surgical brain‑computer interface that would use engineered nanoparticles delivered through a nasal spray and a wearable headset to read and stimulate brain activity. The company, which has raised about $27 million and is still in mouse-stage research, just drew fresh attention after futurist Ray Kurzweil joined as an advisor, though human use remains years away and unproven.
