• FEMA approves $15M for Maui wildfire mitigation work, nearly $1.4M for Kauaʻi storm repairs (mauinow.com) — Rancho Palos Verdes is slated to receive more than $54 million in FEMA hazard mitigation funds to buy and demolish 27 homes damaged by the Greater Portuguese Bend Landslide, a major step in addressing long-running instability on the hillside. The award is part of a broader $226 million disaster package that also funds Maui wildfire mitigation, Kauaʻi storm repairs, and other Western projects.
