Paradise man sentenced to more than seven years in state prison for high speed pursuit, attacking officer with Taser (actionnewsnow.com) — A Paradise resident has been sentenced to more than seven years in state prison after fleeing a traffic stop and using a Taser on a Paradise police officer, causing a seizure. The late-night pursuit on Clark Road ended with the officer hospitalized for over 30 hours and the defendant later arrested on Pentz Road.
   

2. CodeWatch: Housing shortage causes a rethink (smartbrief.com) — Paradise has launched a new building code complaint process for homes built during the post-Camp Fire rebuild, allowing residents to request third-party inspections and triggering penalties for contractors with repeated violations. This change follows a 2025 audit of the town’s Building Division and could directly affect anyone rebuilding or buying homes constructed in the last decade.
   

3. 13-year-old ATV rider dies after crash on Skyway near Paradise (actionnewsnow.com) — A 13-year-old Chico boy died Wednesday evening after an ATV crash on Skyway east of Nimshew Road, just outside Paradise, despite wearing a helmet and receiving emergency care. CHP says drugs and alcohol are not suspected, and the investigation continues as authorities withhold the child’s identity pending notification of family.
   

4. Two arrested in Magalia drug trafficking probe, sheriff's office says (krcrtv.com) — Deputies arrested two people Tuesday after serving a search warrant at a Magalia home tied to suspected fentanyl and heroin trafficking in both Magalia and Paradise. Investigators say they seized enough fentanyl for thousands of potentially lethal doses, along with heroin, meth and packaging materials, and booked the primary suspect into Butte County Jail on multiple drug charges.
