'Wake up call' after car hits children near McNear Elementary in Petaluma (pressdemocrat.com) — A minor car-pedestrian collision near McNear Elementary left everyone physically unharmed but has rattled Petaluma families and prompted urgent safety reminders. Petaluma City Schools' superintendent is urging drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and watch crosswalks, while asking parents and students to model safe walking and biking habits around school zones.

Sonoma County Tourism's Annual Meeting Encouraged Visitor-Facing Local Businesses to Face Headwinds Through Transformation (wineindustryadvisor.com) — Petaluma businesses and the Petaluma Downtown Association are plugged into Sonoma County Tourism's new push to help visitor-facing companies adapt to economic, tech and travel changes. Local hotels and attractions can tap free listings, training and marketing support aimed at drawing more overnight guests, lengthening stays, and keeping tourism dollars flowing into Petaluma's shops, restaurants and public services.
   

3. Seismic activity on Oct. 2: Earthquake close to Petaluma, CA reported (sacbee.com) — A small 2.4 magnitude earthquake struck about four miles west-northwest of Petaluma on Friday afternoon, likely too weak for many residents to feel. Officials are using the tremor as a reminder to review basic earthquake safety steps like drop, cover, and hold on, and to report any shaking to the USGS if you noticed it.
   

4. Solairus Closes Clay Lacy Aircraft Management Acquisition (aero-news.net) — Solairus Aviation, headquartered in Petaluma, has completed the first phase of acquiring Clay Lacy's aircraft management and charter business, with more than 135 aircraft owners already on board. The deal will eventually give Solairus a managed fleet of over 500 jets, keeping its main offices in Petaluma while expanding its national footprint in private aviation.
