Petaluma Fire Spreads Into Solar Facility

PETALUMA, CA — Flames that started with a brush fire spread to a solar facility near Highway 101.

Firefighters initially reported the fire Sunday at about 7:45 p.m., according to CAL FIRE Sonoma-Lake-Napa.

The fire was burning near a frontage road along Highway 101.

The fire spread from 2.5 acres to 4 acres by 8 p.m. and had reached a solar facility near San Antonio Road in Sonoma County.

By 8:28 p.m., firefighters had stopped the fire from spreading further.

Crews said at the time that they planned to remain at the scene to put out hot spots and reinforce control lines.

Firefighters from the Marin County Fire Department, Novato Fire Department, Gold Ridge Fire Protection District, and Cal Fire responded to the fire.
