2 Dead In Airplane Crash At Local Golf Club

PETALUMA, CA — Two passengers in a small plane carrying that crashed at a golf club near the Petaluma Municipal Airport late this morning have died.

The plane crashed at the Rooster Run Golf Club at about 10:30 a.m.

Petaluma police found the downed aircraft fully engulfed in flames.

Petaluma firefighters extinguished the fire, and police found two people dead inside.

The Federal Aviation Administration reported that a Van’s RV-7A single-engine plane crashed in a field shortly after taking off.

An employee of Rooster Run Golf Club confirmed that the plane crashed at the golf course, across the street from the airport, according to CBS News.

Police closed East Washington Street between Garfield Drive and Adobe Road.
