ā¢ USDA deputy: Forest Service's move will benefit West (capitalpress.com) ā Placerville is slated to host both a new U.S. Forest Service state directorās office and a regional operational service center under a major USDA reorganization, while retaining its research facility. Federal officials say moving headquarters to Salt Lake City and redistributing leadership will improve wildfire response, though some members of Congress warn the changes could weaken the agencyās workforce and research capacity.
