• Hospice East Bay announces extensive staffing, care coverage during planned strike (contracostaherald.com) — Hospice East Bay, based in Pleasant Hill, is assuring residents that hospice care, admissions, and Bruns House operations will continue uninterrupted during a planned seven-day workers' strike from Oct. 5–12. A contingency team of clinicians, on-call physicians, and closely managed medications and supplies are all in place so Pleasant Hill patients and families can keep receiving end-of-life and grief support services without disruption.
