1. 55 Pleasanton Students Named 2027 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists (patch.com) — Pleasanton families can celebrate as 55 local high school students have been named 2027 National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, with 30 from Amador Valley and 25 from Foothill. These seniors scored in the top one percent nationwide on the PSAT/NMSQT, putting them in the running for $2,500 scholarships and additional college-sponsored awards.
   

2. Council agrees to deal with Zone 7 for design, construction of new groundwater wells in Pleasanton (pleasantonweekly.com) — Pleasanton's City Council has approved moving forward with a long-term agreement for Zone 7 to design and build two new groundwater wells in city parks, aiming to restore local water production lost to PFAS contamination. The $43 million project, expected online by 2029, is designed to stabilize future water rates and secure a dedicated groundwater supply for residents through 2055.
   

3. 'A lot of reflection': Tri-Valley prepares to mark 25 years since 9/11 (pleasantonweekly.com) — Pleasanton residents can attend a major 9/11 memorial Friday morning at the Alameda County Fairgrounds amphitheater, plus a Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department ceremony on Nevada Street. 4. 25 Pleasanton Businesses Hit In Burglary Spree, Police Now Say (patch.com) — A wave of smash-and-grab burglaries hit at least 25 Pleasanton businesses early Thursday, with suspects targeting mainly restaurants across centers like Pacific Pearl and Mission Plaza. Police briefly pursued a suspect vehicle but ended the chase for safety reasons and are still seeking leads. Residents and business owners are urged to share any information with Pleasanton police.
   

5. Pleasanton Man Broke Windows, Entered Pleasanton Home After Midnight: Police (patch.com) — Pleasanton police say a 24-year-old local man broke windows and entered a Hansen Drive home just after midnight Thursday, apparently thinking he was at a different address. Officers later found him in Dublin, where he was arrested on an unrelated restraining-order violation. Prosecutors are reviewing the Pleasanton incident as a possible vandalism case, and investigators see no sign the residents were targeted.
