Pleasanton Teen Suspected In 25 Business Burglaries Arrested

PLEASANTON, CA — A 19-year-old Pleasanton resident was arrested in connection with a series of commercial burglaries that occurred in Pleasanton on Sept. 10, the Pleasanton Police Department and San Ramon Police Department announced.

Police said Tuesday that they believe Juan Luis Valdez-Luevano and other suspects were responsible for the burglaries in Pleasanton and multiple cities across Alameda, Contra Costa, and Santa Clara counties. Similar burglary sprees were reported in San Ramon and Danville, though police did not specify whether they believe Valdez-Luevano was involved in those incidents.

At least 25 businesses in Pleasanton were burglarized the morning of Sept. 10, seven more than had happened in all of 2026 prior to that morning. Police said that four individuals in hooded sweatshirts were seen smashing front glass windows and leaving one business with a cash register. They left in a sedan with no license plates. A chase ensued down Stanley Boulevard, but officers terminated the pursuit west of Highway 84 due to safety concerns.

On Sept. 16, the Pleasanton Police Department coordinated with neighboring agencies to serve a search warrant at Valdez-Luevano’s residence on Vineyard Avenue in Pleasanton. Investigators located evidence in his car and his Pleasanton residence they believe are related to the burglaries.

At the same time, detectives with the San Ramon Police Department and Dublin Police Services contacted Valdez-Luevano at the Alameda County Probation Office in Dublin before he met his probation officer, and took him into custody on an arrest warrant obtained in Contra Costa County.

PPD Lt. Brandon Stocking told Patch that San Ramon police identified Valdez-Luevano as a suspect and shared that information with Pleasanton detectives. Based on San Ramon’s investigation and evidence found at his Pleasanton home, Pleasanton police connected him to the Sept. 10 burglaries.

Valdez-Luevano was booked in Contra Costa County on multiple burglary charges, police said. He is expected to be transferred to Alameda County, where additional charges are being sought in connection with the Sept. 10 burglaries.

Pleasanton detectives say they are continuing to work with neighboring agencies to identify other individuals who may have been involved.
