A tiny home community is coming soon to Pomona (dailybulletin.com) — Pomona is launching a 16-unit gated tiny home community on Garey Avenue to house homeless residents who receive Tri-City Mental Health services, with completion required by June 2027. Funded by about $4.45 million from Tri-City, the modular homes will include private kitchens and bathrooms, on-site management, and income-based rent, and interested residents can already contact the city’s housing authority for details.

3. Local Congresswoman Norma J. Torres salutes NHRA and its Pomona roots (nhra.com) — Pomona residents may appreciate that Congresswoman Norma J. Torres, a lifelong Pomona local, has formally honored the NHRA’s 75th anniversary while spotlighting the Pomona Dragstrip’s central role in drag racing history. 4. Winternationals Winners: Tony Stewart (T/F) Greg Anderson (P/S) & Matt Hagan Wins 1,000th NHRA Funny Car Title! (bangshift.com) — Big-league drag racing just delivered a milestone weekend at Pomona’s In-N-Out Burger Dragstrip, with Matt Hagan winning the 1,000th NHRA Funny Car race and Tony Stewart earning his first Top Fuel win at the track. Pro Stock star Greg Anderson extended his dominance at the Pomona facility, while local racer Justin Morris gave hometown fans extra reason to cheer with a breakthrough Super Comp victory.

Black Astronaut Victor Glover Welcomed Home by His Neighbors After Historic Moon Mission (blacknews.com) — A hometown connection to space history comes through Pomona-born astronaut Victor Glover, who just returned from a 10-day Artemis II mission around the Moon.
