• Poway Unified offering free meals to students this school year (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Families in Poway Unified can count on free breakfast and lunch for every student, every school day during the 2026-27 year, regardless of income. Meals follow USDA nutrition standards, include vegetarian options, and still require families to complete online meal applications so the district can document income eligibility and maintain funding.
