Blood Moon Eclipse Over Rancho Santa Margarita: Photo Of The Day
This Orange County photographer managed to snap a mesmerizing picture of this week's blood moon eclipse.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — While many Rancho Santa Margarita residents stepped out of their homes Thursday night to try to catch a glimpse of the returning "blood moon eclipse," cloud coverage blotted out what could be seen for many.
One Rancho Santa Margarita man, however, lucked out.

Local resident Jonathan Collins managed to capture a perfectly radiant shot of the celestial event.

"Not the easiest moment to capture through the haze over RSM, but hopefully you all got a chance to see tonight’s eclipse," Collins wrote of the photo on Facebook. "If not, here is a shot from our street."
Collins shot the photo with a Sony A7RV at 600mm zoom in his Trabuco Mesa Park neighborhood, he told Patch.
