Officials are using the incident to remind residents how to stay safe by dropping, covering, and holding on, and by watching for hazards and aftershocks. Butte County deputies arrest Red Bluff driver in stolen car chase into Marysville (krcrtv.com) — A 38-year-old Red Bluff resident was arrested after Butte County deputies say she fled a traffic stop in a reportedly stolen car, leading them on a late-night chase toward Marysville. The pursuit allegedly involved speeding through stop signs and hitting a fence before the car became disabled. Deputies, with Marysville police, quickly caught the driver, who faces multiple charges.

James 'Jim' Creath Dale – May 20, 2026 (susanvillestuff.com) — Red Bluff is remembered as the hometown of James “Jim” Creath Dale, who was born here in 1937 and graduated from Red Bluff High School before a long firefighting career. His obituary honors his Navy service, decades with California forestry, deep devotion to family, and many talents as a musician, woodworker, and meticulous mentor to children and grandchildren.
